MEET THE COACHES


Yumi Lee, co-owner of Reebok CrossFit LAB, is an internationally renowned fitness expert who has been active in the fitness industry for over 15 years. She travels the world as an international presenter and trainer, honing the skills of professional athletes, and sculpting the bodies of Hollywood's elite.

She has worked with Brad Pitt, Jessica Alba, Pink, Hugh Jackman, Deborra-Lee Furness, Nicole Richie, Demi Moore, Orlando Bloom, Miranda Kerr, Julianna Margulies, Peter Krause, and Sporty Spice of The Spice Girls. She also trained with Cris Carter's FAST program to sharpen her skills in the world of athletics, speed, endurance and performance training.

Her intense style of training can be attributed to her personal experience in the world of athletics. She competed in the National Sport Aerobics Competition for seven years where she won three gold, two silver and one bronze medal.

Yumi believes that there is no greater investment than the investment in one's self — mind, body and soul. Her combination of practical knowledge, realistic lifestyle changes and unwavering motivation challenges her clients both mentally and physically, ultimately bringing them to a new level of fitness.

Ron Mathews, co-owner of Reebok CrossFit LAB, has been one of the top personal trainers in the US for the last decade. Recognized by Men’s Journal as one of the 100 best trainers in the world, Ron’s list of A-list celebrity clients speaks to his ability to give his clients red carpet results.

After being humbled by his first CrossFit workout, Ron immersed himself into CrossfFit. “I thought I was in good shape. I looked good but it was all just smoke and mirrors. CrossFit exposed all of the chinks in my armor. Now I have a more complete level of fitness that goes beyond aesthetics. Looking good is the by-product of the work.”

Pamela Matew grew up playing every sport she could dive into, from swimming, diving, biking, basketball, volleyball, cross-country, track and field, snowboarding and even salsa dancing with the pros. After graduating college, in her search for that same edge, she stumbled upon CrossFit. She immediately fell in love with the Olympic lifting aspect of CrossFit and is working towards specializing in it.

Since becoming a Crossfit coach, Pamela has continued to educate herself in exercise and muscle physiology, as well as take a strong liking to focusing on mobility.

Pamela likes to fine tune her athletes’ movements to make sure that form and technique is the priority to keep them safe and prevent injury. She gets her motivation when she helps others find their inner strength through their outer strength.

She aspires to compete at the next Reebok CrossFit Games!

Michael Berry is a Los Angeles based Level 1 Crossfit coach and personal trainer.
Born and raised in Northwest Seattle, Michael Berry grew up playing baseball and basketball. As a team captain in both sports throughout school, his discipline has always been modeled after a humble and hard work approach.

Michael arrived in Los Angeles in 2011. His commitment to healthy living helped him find Reebok CrossFit Lab where he was introduced to the benefits of a vigorous routine that combines all aspects of fitness. His work as a Level 1 CrossfFit coach has offered him the opportunity to face his own physical and mental challenges head on.

His passion to help his clients redefine their fitness goals is evident. He encourages them to work toward achievable benchmarks that are guaranteed to improve the quality of their lives.

When Michael isn't busy working and training at Reebok CrossFit LAB, he enjoys spending time with his son, Beckham and his dog, Owen. He is also a key member of the Sales and Marketing Team at Genre Hotels.

Sterling Price Brown, grew up wrestling and playing football and continued through High School. When he moved to Los Angeles to further his acting career, he quickly became involved in Krav Maga, and that's where he found CrossFit.

He excelled at it quickly and knew he wanted it to be a big part of his life. He immediately received his CrossFit Level 1 Certification and started coaching athletes.

He is constantly motivated by coaching, learning, competing with friends and being a part of such a great and large community.

Brandon Mills is a physical fitness and health expert who has been training the greater Los Angeles area since 2010. He holds a Bachelor's Degree, from the University of Southern California, in Kinesiology and Human Performance and truly understands that every body is unique, Brandon spends quality time getting to know each client then creates a detailed and unique program involving fitness as well as nutritional and lifestyle choices.

Adding to his expertise, Brandon participated in a research opportunity that allowed him to discover his true passion, fighting childhood obesity. He administered the Presidential Fitness examinations in inner city Los Angeles elementary schools while in attendance at the University of Southern California. Through these examinations he wrote a physical fitness and nutritional journal for area Boys and Girls Clubs and assisted in the development of after-school programs encouraging children to get up, get active and participate in a healthy lifestyle. Brandon discovered another passion in January of 2012 when he teamed up with a CrossFit Professional and began a weekly radio show on Global Voice Broadcasting: Fitness Friday with Two Smart Dumbbells. This hour long segment allows listeners to call in with questions, comments or personal stories while listening to the different weekly topics. The show is upbeat, positive and has a sense of humor that makes the goal of being fit and living a healthy lifestyle fun and attainable.

Landon LaRue grew up as an aspiring Rockette, a competition gymnast and figure skater until an injury sidelined her. It was a few years of physical therapy before she was able to go on a search for something more fulfilling. Her search ended when she discovered CrossFit and after experiencing the life changing sport, she pursued her L1 Certification and has established herself as an official judge for The CrossFit Games.

She has trained a variety of individuals ranging from corporate CEOs to pageant queens, most recently Mrs. California 2013.

When she is not coaching, she is constantly researching mobility and recovery techniques in order to prevent injury and competes at International Kettlebell and Fitness Federation meets.
